Comments: I too was told as a child, "there aren't any other Songers". Well apparently that wasn't accurate. Now we seem to be everywhere. There's even another Dr. David Songer in Michigan! The genealogical data I've seen indicated that Zinger, Zonger, Zanger, and Singer, Sanger, and Songer all originally stemmed from the same family in Germany. And I saw a book where the coat of arms had swans in it. All the Songers I've known about had some common traits: quick tempered, hand fast and good at fisticuffs, (my great grandfather was a prize fighter, my grandpa was a professional fighter, two great uncles were golden glove champions, my uncles and dad had a reputation, my brother and I boxed a lot growing up), extreme in one way or another, country people more than city folks, and usually a passion for outdoor activities...sound like anybody you know? lol

Comments: Thank you Larry for telling me about this site. I am surprised to see there are so many Songers. I thought I was the only one left. Any descendants of Hickman Songer?
